John Leneghan one of our regular guests penned the following poem for Dacara
*****************************
Mmmmm the smell of a full Irish breakfast
is surly the best start to the day
As the landlady pops her head around the door,
same as usual she would brightly say
The morning light reflects off the walls and floods in to the room
Taking away the wet and miserable memory of yesterdays gloom
What wonderful adventures await us
On this beautiful summer’s day?
As I pull back the nets
to reveal a small group of yachts bobbling about in the bay
I fall in to a dream
as the sun beats down on to the freshly painted window sill
Oh how sometimes you wish you could freeze the frame
and time could just stand still
I am startled by the arrival of breakfast
which only just fits on the table
Where do we start? Can we eat it all? I am sure we’ll be able
The landlady smiles at us both as she asks if we want coffee or tea
I really don’t mind I think to myself, all I do know is this is the place to be
Sitting at this little round table with my true love,
with a lovely view of the Irish Sea.
